Awards – Over the course of his term as president Sean has been the recipient of a number of awards that highlight his contribution to irish society. These awards include:

ESB Rehab Person of the Year Award, 2005 For his courageous and stylish leadership of the GAA through times of great transition and during the Rule 42 debate in particular, Sean Kelly is awarded a People of the Year Award.The Rehab Group is an independent, not-for-profit organization which provides training, employment, health and social care and commercial services for some 56,000 people each year in Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands and Poland. These Awards serve to recognise the achievements of Irish people and their contributions to society. Conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by Dublin Institute of Technology, 2007

Dublin, 15 February, 2007: Seán Kelly, former President of the GAA and current Chairperson of the Irish Institute for Sport, was conferred tonight with an Honorary Doctorate from Dublin Institute of Technology for his outstanding contribution to inclusiveness in Irish sport. The Award was conferred in St. Patrick's Cathedral in front of hundreds of students and their families at the last in the series of DIT graduation ceremonies for the student cohort of 2006.
